We have a family favourite: Mars bar sauce!

Very simple and very tasty!

  1. Chop up one Mars bar (per two people)

  2. Gently melt in a bowl on low heat, with 2 tbsp cream and 8g (1/2 oz) butter.

  3. Stir or whisk to make a smooth sauce, and pour over ice-cream!

I've not been able to find mars bars in my area lately :( as soon as I do, I'll try this! Thanks for the answer! – Elizra Jan 18 at 21:51
I'm having exactly the same problem now I've moved to the USA - definitely an easier recipe for people in the UK! – Ikkle Becca Jan 18 at 23:07
Noted actor and chef Bill Pertwee has won competitions with that recipe! – klypos Jan 19 at 0:10
The mars bars I remember had almonds. The ones I'm finding online do not have almonds. Actually, Snickers with almonds are the closest to the Mars Bars I remember from 10 years ago... But, I'm thinking that the recipe must be for the mars bars without almonds, right? I found those on amazon.com. – Elizra Jan 22 at 13:53
I think they did a short run of ones with almonds, but no, I mean the ones without. I just found them on Amazon.com too, but they cost a fortune since they're imported! – Ikkle Becca Jan 22 at 15:59

I like Smuckers brand when I purchase it at the store, but for homemade, my husband came up with a simple, yummy concoction. he mixed equal parts maple syrup and cocoa powder. It looked, at first, like it would not mix well, but then suddenly, it mixed up into a nice, sweet, perfect consistency, topping for ice cream.

I love Dove's milk chocolate hot fudge sauce. I'd eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon if I weren't more health conscious. ;)
